French MP Meyer Habib said the recent attack on two Jewish brothers in suburban Paris was distinctly anti-Semitic.
"This is a very serious event," Habib told Israel's Kol Hai Radio. "It was an explicitly anti-Semitic attack. Today, no one calls these things anti-Semitic - they just say 'extreme right wing' - but it's still anti-Semitism.
"Today, calling someone a 'Jew' is a curse.
"If a Jew cannot live in France, then the problem belongs to the French. They don't just attack Jews. And French Jews have a hard time emigrating to Israel because of the financial and language difficulties."
Last Tuesday, several assailants attacked two Jewish brothers aged 17 and 29 years old. The 29-year-old's finger was sawed off by one of the assailants.
