Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) met Thursday with Major Yaakov Roshi, the Head of the IDF's Yeshiva Students Section.

The Defense Minister sought to reinforce Maj. Roshi, who has been subject to a campaign of harassment by haredi extremists who are against the enlistment of haredim into the IDF. His family has also suffered from the harassment campaign.

Several days ago Maj. Roshi received a suspicious envelope which contained wires and which had the word 'revenge' written on it.

During the meeting, the officer told Liberman about the harassment, demonstrations and threats that he and his family experience virtually every day.

The Defense Minister told him: "I wish to strengthen you and your family and to give you support in your activities. You perform a very important task, and you have our full appreciation for the efforts you make and the sacrifice required of you in the face of what you and your family are experiencing."

"We are available to you and your family for anything you may need, and I intend to work with the Justice Minister and the Public Security Minister to fight legally in these cases. It is unbearable to me that an officer in the IDF lives under threats from anyone, and we have to deal with these criminals and those who send them, and we cannot stop until they are sitting behind bars," Liberman stressed.
