White House special envoy Jason Greenblatt met with Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations on Sunday to discuss cooperation between the US and Israel at the UN.

Greenblatt reported Sunday that he sat down for breakfast with Ambassador Danny Danon in New York, where the two discussed cooperation between Israel’s delegation to the UN and the US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley.

“Just had breakfast with Amb. @dannydanon,” Greenblatt tweeted. “Discussed the important work he and our esteemed Amb. @nikkihaley are doing at the #UnitedNations.”

Haley, who previously served as the Governor of South Carolina, has repeatedly criticized the United Nations for its ‘obsession’ with the Jewish state, while it soft-pedals Iran’s nuclear weapons program and ballistic missile program.

On Friday, Haley called on the International Atomic Energy Agency to do more to ensure Iran’s compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal.

“I have good confidence in the IAEA, but they are dealing with a country that has a clear history of lying and pursuing covert nuclear programs,” Haley told a news conference after returning from a trip to Vienna, where the IAEA is based, according to Reuters.

”We are encouraging the IAEA to use all the authoritiy they have and to pursue every angle possible “to verify compliance with the nuclear deal,” she added.
