North Korea will test another long-range missile on or before Tuesday, Russian MP Anton Morozov said Friday.
According to Morozov, North Korea believes the new missile will be able to reach the US' west coast.
"They are preparing for new tests of a long-range missile. They even gave us mathematical calculations that they believe prove that their missile can hit the west coast of the United States," RIA quoted Morozov as saying. "As far as we understand, they intend to launch one more long-range missile in the near future. And in general, their mood is rather belligerent."
He also said North Korea displayed "serious determination" and that the situation demanded "the swiftest intervention of all interested states....in order to prevent wide-scale military action."
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump tweeted, "Presidents and their administrations have been talking to North Korea for 25 years, agreements made and massive amounts of money paid hasn't worked, agreements violated before the ink was dry, makings fools of U.S. negotiators. Sorry, but only one thing will work!"
On September 3, North Korean state television announced the country had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb.
In his September speech before the UN General Assembly, Trump nicknamed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man", and said he "is on suicide mission for himself and for his regime."
"No nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arming itself with nuclear weapons and missiles," Trump said. "It is time for North Korea to realize that de-nuclearization is its only acceptable future."
In response, North Korean's foreign minister said Trump had made an "irreversible mistake" and threatened the "entire U.S. mainland" with missiles.
