US President Joe Biden responded to the criticism of some US lawmakers and said that he did not see the penetration of the Chinese spy balloon into US airspace as a "significant security breach."

Biden added that he does not regret not intercepting the balloon at an earlier stage. According to him, "This is a complete violation of international law and as soon as the balloon enters our airspace, we can do whatever we want with it."
