The South District Attorney's Office submitted to the Be'er Sheva District Court an indictment against Owad Alanshemi (49), a resident of Masaudin Al-Azazama, for transporting weapons, after he was caught with 53 Glock pistols with matching ammunition, with an estimated value of over NIS 2 million. In addition, the defendant transported another 10 Sig Sauer pistols with matching ammunition.
Israel Police officers placed a barbed wire barrier in front of his car, which the accused ran over, endangering the officers. Even though the wheels of his vehicle were punctured, the accused drove quickly, while moving from lane to lane until he stopped the vehicle, got out of it, and continued to flee on foot in the dirt area. A number of policemen chased the accused while shooting illumination flares until they managed to catch up with the accused and arrest him.
