The Director General of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Kfir Suissa, held a mezuzah-placing ceremony in the Israeli pavilion at the world's leading film festival in the city of Cannes - "Festival de Cannes" on the French Riviera. (A mezuzah is a small scroll traditionally affixed to Jewish-owned buildings).
The Israeli pavilion was established for the seventh time under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and this year was dedicated to the celebrations of 75 years of film creation, co-productions, and collaborations between the Israeli film industry and foreign film industries.
Filmmakers and journalists from all over the world were present at the launch ceremony, along with the members of the Israeli delegation with the participation of the head of the Culture Administration, Galit Wahba-Shasho, and the Director of Cinema and Dance, Keren Carmel-Assaf.
