Alexander Savnok, 43, of Beit Shemesh, allegedly murdered his daughter Liana (22) and then took his own life. According to Channel 13 News, a police investigation revealed that he may have also planned to murder his 17-year-old son. "He called me and demanded that I come. He sounded very upset. I opened the door and saw that Liana was dead." Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Gideon Sa'ar commented on the murder as well: "My heart breaks to hear of this. The life of 21-year-old Liana Savnok was brutally cut short by her father. The terror of domestic violence should not be accepted as fate. In this case too, there was a restraining order against the killer. I am obliged to complete the bill that I led, and which was approved in the first reading, for electronic supervision for the purpose of enforcing restraining orders in cases of dangerous family members".
