A vocal argument took place between ministers Itamar Ben Gvir from Otzma Yehudit and Miki Zohar from the Likud during the Cabinet meeting which was held on Tuesday night and in which the ministers approved the hostage release deal with Hamas. Minister Ben Gvir angered Minister Zohar when he said, "We have to say thank you that women and children are released and in essence give them preference over other women and children? Our sages said that we mustn’t favor one person over another." Minister Zohar wondered, "So what is your solution? Let's save the women and children." Ben Gvir responded, "My solution is that we should try to save everyone. We have not yet reached the point of exhaustion of the war effort. You see that Hamas is slowly running out of oxygen, why let them recover?" Minister Zohar replied to Ben Gvir and said, “Stop with the political considerations." Ben Gvir responded, "Miki, we are not in the Likud Central Committee. A political consideration is actually to vote in favor of the deal and want to be liked, but I have a responsibility for the security of the soldiers, the civilians and the hostages we are leaving behind."
