The end of the Shavuot holiday in the south was punctuated Wednesday evening with a fresh salvo of four rockets fired by terrorists from Gaza. Three rockets exploded in the Sderot area, sending residents racing for the shelters for the second time that day. A fourth rocket scored a direct hit on a stable in Kibbutz Nir Am south of Ashkelon, killing a pregnant mare. Of the rockets that landed in Sderot, one landed in the city, sending a woman into shock. The other two exploded on the outskirts of the city. No damage was reported. Earlier, a rocket landed during morning prayers, exploding in an open area on the outskirts of the city. The Color Red alert system sounded in time to allow a few seconds for residents to reach shelters and other safe areas. No one was hurt and no damage was reported.
