A caring Jew in New York says that 90 percent of American Jewry "has no clue that Jerusalem is being discussed" in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority. Yudi Zuller, a Brooklyn businessman, has produced many fundraisers and concerts to help victims of terror and families of IDF soldiers who are missing in action and wounded in the line of duty – but this year, he says, the families will have to wait. Jerusalem, the holiest city in Judaism, is on the table and at risk of being given away. Zuller is producing a concert, an awareness-raising event, to help make sure it doesn't happen. "People have no idea what is going on here," he said in an interview Wednesday with Arutz-7. "I don't consider myself a right-winger, but when I tell this to people, (that the status of Jerusalem is on the negotiating table –ed.), they look at me like I'm nuts. 'It's not true,' they say, 'They'll never give away Yerushalayim.' They are totally blinded." The concert, he said, is not a fundraiser. This time, it is solely to raise awareness and get the word out there to the public. "We're just hoping to break even," he said. Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive Vice President of the National Council of Young Israel and founder of the Coordinating Council on Jerusalem, concurred. Putting pressure on the government "It's more important than ever today to raise awareness. Put 5,000 people in a room and tell them about Jerusalem," he told Arutz-7, as an example of what should be done. "People forget about it and the pressure is off. We can't afford to slow down, and we can't afford to give in. We have to let the government officials know that we are not giving up." Rabbi Lerner said every city in the U.S. should be holding awareness-raising events to let Jews know that Jerusalem is on the table. He also offered to help anyone who wants to create an event for that purpose. "Anybody who calls me, we'll be happy to help," he said. "Every city should be doing this. They should be driving their Israeli consulates and embassies crazy. Tell them 'Don't you dare think of dividing Jerusalem. We are paying attention. We are not going to let it happen!'" The concert, "Jerusalem United", is billed as an "uplifting rally and concert" and will feature guest speakers, videos of Jerusalem and performances by top singers in the Jewish music world. It will be held Sunday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the National Council of Young Israel, Jerusalem Reclamation Project and the Israel Solidarity Fund of America.
