Two Palestinian Authority Arabs who attacked Israelis were shot and killed on Tuesday. One incident took place in the afternoon near the town of Adora in the Hevron region. The second took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Samaria.

On Tuesday night, soldiers received a report that Arab residents of Samaria were attacking Jewish motorists along Highway 55, between Alfei Menashe and Karnei Shomron. Arabs were throwing large rocks and boulders at Israeli-owned vehicles, a witness reported. The man reporting the attacks, a resident of Emmanuel, said he had fired his personal weapon in the air to frighten attackers off.

When soldiers reached the scene they found two PA Arabs, one of whom suffered a critical gunshot wound. The second was unhurt. MDA paramedics attempted to revive the wounded man, but he soon died of his injuries.

Police said they were investigating the incident.

Earlier in the day soldiers patrolling the Hevron region saw an Arab man attempting to damage a security fence. The man was arrested and handcuffed. Soldiers say he managed to remove his handcuffs and attacked a soldier, attempting to steal his weapon.

The soldier fired back, hitting the man in the stomach. He was taken to a PA hospital in Hevron, where he died of his injuries. PA sources accused soldiers of murdering the man, who was identified as Yasser Saqer Tameizy.

The night before, three IDF soldiers had been lightly wounded in a shooting attack near the city of Hevron.

An attack was reported in Judea on Tuesday evening as well. PA Arabs threw firebombs at cars along the Highway 60 tunnel road south of Jerusalem. No injuries were reported.

IDF soldiers searched the area and found pipebombs, but the attackers were not located.
