The freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria is high on the list of governmental law-enforcement priorities: Forces destroyed a one-room hut in Elon Moreh overnight. Agents of the Civil Administration destroyed the one-room structure before dawn and were accompanied by large and special unit of police forces. The destroyed object of all the attention was a simple aluminum-and-filler shack, newly-built in the Jewish town of Elon Moreh in Samaria (Shomron). Residents of Elon Moreh say that the police tricked the town guard, opened the gate and entered the town. They addded that the police pulled a similar trick that they employed a few weeks ago in a similar operation, entering the town under false pretenses and then preventing the guard from alerting his neighbors to the impending destruction. Residents said at the time that by neutralizing the guard, the police endangered the town. Immediately after the destruction, and even before the forces left Elon Moreh, the residents began rebuilding the destroyed hut. “We will continue our Zionist achievements,” residents said, “despite the hostility of [Defense Minister Ehud] Barak, [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu and all the others who wish to block the building of the Land of Israel and the State of Israel. For every destruction we will build twice as much.”
