Palestinian Authority Arabs entered the Jewish village of Yitzhar in Samaria undetected on Sunday and managed to cause serious damage to property. The infiltrators stole a cement mixer and destroyed construction equipment. Resident of Yitzhar estimated the cost of the damage at 5,000 shekels ($1,325). The thieves entered Yitzhar from the nearby PA town of Ourif, security guards said. Ourif is controlled by the PA police, and IDF troops usually refrain from entering. PA Arabs have managed to enter Yitzhar several times over the past two years. The infiltrators, most of them from Asira a-Kabaliya, have stolen agricultural equipment, destroyed tens of thousands of shekels worth of property, and on one occasion even attempted to murder a local child. The most recent infiltration took place just two days after a young PA Arab girl was found wandering alone in Yitzhar. A local woman took the girl in and gave her food and water until security forces managed to locate her parents. Yitzhar's security team expressed concern at the time that the child may have been sent into Yitzhar intentionally, in order to test the village's defenses.
