Israel celebrates Independence Day according to the Jewish Calendar but for the Arabs the anniversary is 15 May. The Al Ahram website reports that as part of the push for a more hostile approach to Israel that followed the overthrow of the Mubarak regime some Egyptian groups plan to march to "Palestine" under the slogan “Cairo’s liberation will not be complete without the liberation of Al-Quds [Jerusalem].” An Egyptian convoy departing from Cairo will also call for ending the export of Egyptian gas to Israel and in general ending all “humiliating agreements with the Zionist state”. The Cairo march will start in Tahrir Square the flashpoints of the demonstrations, will arrive in Gaza in the evening in time for May 15. Those for whom this is too strenuous can content themselves with, demonstrations in front of the Israeli embassy in Giza and the Israeli ambassador’s house.
