The fate of philanthropist Guma Aguiar is not known after his boat washed ashore at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Brazilian-born energy industrialist and millionaire businessperson, who splits his time living between the United States and Israel, went out for a sail in his motorboat despite bad weather. It was found with its motor running, and Aguiar was nowhere to be seen. Lior Horev, a director of the Hapoel Yerushalayim soccer team and Aguiar's spokesman in Israel, gave a statement Wednesday in which he said: "The owner of Hapoel Yerushalayim Guma Aguiar has been missing since nighttime… Aguiar apparently encountered stormy weather. When he failed to return, his wife announced that he had gone missing and the Coast Guard began to search for him. The intensive search continues at this time." Aguiar is known in Israel as a beneficent man who loves the Jewish state and has helped Torah institutes and yeshivas.
