Soldier Stabbed by Arab Terrorist in Afula
Jew moderately-seriously wounded in today's fourth Arab terror attack, this time in the northern city of Afula.
A Jewish man in his twenties was stabbed and moderately to seriously wounded in an Arab terror attack in the northern city of Afula on Thursday, marking the fourth such stabbing of the day.
The young victim was attacked on Arlozorov Street in Afula. Magen David Adom (MDA) and United Hatzalah crews were called to the scene and provided medical treatment, afterwards evacuating him to Haemek Hospital in the city.
An update from the hospital revealed that the soldier was suffering from moderate to serious wounds, and had been taken to the trauma unit for treatment.
Initial reports indicate that the terrorist was apprehended by civilians who happened to be passing by at the time, and then arrested by police.
MDA spokesperson Zaki Heller stated that "at 7:12 p.m. it was reported to MDA from Gilboa Street about a youth who was stabbed on Arlozorov Street in Afula."
Heller noted that the victim was moderately wounded with stab wounds on his upper body, but was conscious.
An angry group of passersby tried to hit the terrorist after he stabbed the soldier, and then as police officers tried to protect the terrorist they reportedly clashed with the officers. According to the reports, several were arrested in the clashes and taken in to Afula police station.
Video of civilians detaining the terrorist can be seen below, showing some shouting for revenge and trying to hit him, while others call for restraint.
The stabbing is the fourth on Thursday, and comes after at least six terrorist attacks on Wednesday.
Thursday's string of stabbings began in Jerusalem, where a 25-year-old yeshiva student was seriously wounded and another man was lightly wounded at the Ammunition Hill light rail station.
Later an Arab terrorist stabbed and lightly wounded five Israelis in central Tel Aviv before being shot and eliminated.
Less than an hour after the Tel Aviv attack, another stabbing took place at the western gate of Kiryat Arba leading to Hevron, where a Jewish man was seriously wounded by an Arab terrorist who fled into Hevron.
