Two Israelis were injured in a drive-by shooting attack Wednesday evening on the road from Avnei Hefetz to Einav in Samaria. First reports indicate the Palestinian Arab terrorist fired 23 shots on the Israeli couple's car as he passed them, before driving away. Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and Hatzalah volunteers provided primary treatment at the scene and evacuated the injured woman to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, and the man to Beilinson Hospital in Petak Tikva. According to MDA, the 62-year-old man was moderately-to-seriously injured and is suffering from both a head injury and gunshot wounds. His wife, also in her sixties, is moderately injured with a gunshot wound. The victims have been identified as Shaul and Rachel Nir Local Hatzalah medic Mati Golan recounted, "When I arrived at the scene together with other Hatzalah volunteers from Avnei Hefetz, we encountered a semi-conscious man and a conscious woman suffering from gunshot wounds after being hit by bullets fired at their car." "After initial medical treatment and with the help of army medics, they were evacuated to the hospital." A large security presence is at the scene of the attack searching for the perpetrator.
