Attorney Yifa Segal, director of the International Legal Forum (ILF), spoke with Arutz Sheva to explain her organization's battle in European and other foreign courts against the BDS movement that seeks to financially harm Israel.
Segal began by explaining that ILF is an international coalition of attorneys, activists and organizations working for human rights in the legal arena.
Noting on the success recorded by the group in recent months as it combats BDS, she pointed to an example of successful litigation that it got passed in Spain.
There, working with local legal organizations, ILF built a strong case against the local BDS movement by arguing European city halls cannot adopt BDS as official policy because it discriminates, incites for violence, and counters European law and guidelines.
"We won the case," emphasized Segal, noting that the group has so far won three international cases against BDS using a similar strategy of implementing the existing law and exposing the true motives behind BDS.
When asked if Europe now understands Israel better after the lethal Islamist terror attacks in Paris and Brussels, Segal said that some Europeans certainly now seem to better understand the threat of jihadism.
But she warned that there are others who feel they must do even more to appease the radical Islamists, and therefore they want to "sacrifice Israel."
However, she noted that as her organization has proven it is possible to gather evidence and battle BDS, even in Europe.
