Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu this morning (Sunday) will present the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet with a proposed package of incentives for PA Arabs, created in honor of US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit. The Cabinet will vote, among other things, on a proposal to allow Arabs to build in Israeli-controlled Area C, relaxing restrictions on Arabs wishing to pass from Jordan to Israel through the Allenby Border Crossing, and building industrial areas in Hevron-area Tarqumiyah and the northern Samaria Arab town of Al-Jalama. Jewish Home ministers, including Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Education Minister Naftali Bennett, will vote against allowing Arabs to build in Area C, since it automatically changes the borders of the three areas, without Israel receiving anything in return. According to Galei Zahal Radio , Bennett is trying to form a coalition of ministers who will oppose the package, which Netanyahu attempted to pass during former US President Barack Obama's term in office but which was opposed by the Cabinet members, including Bennett, Shaked, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) and Environmental Protection Minister Ze'ev Elkin (Likud). This time, it seems Netanyahu may have a majority of Cabinet members in favor of the proposal, despite the Jewish Home's opposition to it. "As part of our cooperation with the Arab states, we must take steps to allow the Palestinians to develop economically," Katz told Galei Zahal . "The Arab states have in invested interest in working with Israel."
