US President Donald Trump and First Lay Melania Trump made a surprise visit with US troops stationed in Iraq on Wednesday.

The First couple met with the soldiers and personnel at the Al Asad Air Base in Iraq, Reuters reported.

Trump's unusual 17-hour absence from Twitter fueled speculation as to where he was. In addition, no lights were seen in the floor of the White House where Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders' office is located.

The visit was Trump's first to troops in the field during wartime.
