Jay Shapiro says that a major part of American support of Israel comes from Christian fundamentalists. In his opinion, their support of Israel must be appreciated with a certain amount of caution. He thinks that the State of Israel needs international support, but that any such support needs to be examined, among other things, from a cost-benefit angle.
