MK Zevulun Orlev (Jewish Home) warned Sunday against the plans to demolish four young communities in Judea and Samaria and said the plan could bring about the coalition's demise.

Orlev proposed a bill that would give legal status to the communities: Amona, Migron, Givat Assaf and the Ulpana Neighborhood of Beit El.

"We are still suffering from the trauma and catastrophe of the Disengagement [from Gaza, ed.] and I predict a terrible shock, to the point of toppling the government and holding elections [if the communities are razed], and I think that no one wants this," he told Arutz Sheva.

While Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has decided that a government committee tasked with legalizing some of Judea and Samaria’s outposts will not be able to save communities on which there is already a court ruling, MK Orlev claimed that he had pinned no hopes on the committee anyway.

Only legislation can save the day, he said. "In the end," he said, "the ones being tested here are MKs from Likud, Yisrael Beitenu, Shas and the entire nationalist camp. Only recruitment of a majority of MKs and the start of legislation will prevent demolition of homes in Judea and Samaria."
