Kamel Hammad, mayor of the Palestinian side of Hevron, visited a mourners' tent that was set up by the family of the terrorist who attempted to carry out a terror attack in the town of Anatot over the weekend. The terrorist, a thirteen year-old girl, was killed during the foiled attack.
The Palestinian city rulers are appointed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, and are considered to be his representatives in the regions under their control.
The terrorist was neutralized on Saturday when she was seen running with a knife in her hand past the entrance gate of the the town of Anatot, in the Binyamin regional council. A civilian security guard who was stationed at the gate shot and injured the girl. She later died of her wounds. According to reports on Channel Two news, the terrorist had an argument with her family, then grabbed a knife and ran away to perpetrate out a terror attack in the nearby Jewish town of Anatot.
Her father chased after her and arrived at the scene a short time after her failed attack. He was brought for questioning to the Ma’aleh Adumim police station.
