Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is due to deliver a speech at 8 pm tonight and report a dramatic development proving Iranian nuclear agreement non-compliance.
The Teheran government is attacking the speech even before it's been delivered. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif referred to what the Prime Minister had yet to say and remarked, "The boy who can't stop crying wolf is at it again. Undeterred by cartoon fiasco at UNGA.
"You can only fool some of the people so many times," Zarif tweeted on his Twitter account.
Netanyahu convened an emergency meeting for cabinet ministers and briefed them on details of the declaration he is about to deliver.
Apparently this is new intelligence information gathered by Israel regarding Iran's nuclear program. Netanyahu will present the information in Hebrew and English.
News Tenreported National Security Advisor Meir Ben Shabat held phone calls with his colleagues in Britain, France, and Germany in recent hours to update them on the new intelligence information.
Talks between Israel and the United States over the nuclear agreement have accelerated ahead of President Trump's upcoming decision whether to continue to remain in the nuclear agreement or to withdraw from it. Trump's decision is expected by May 12.
At noon, the political-security cabinet met at the Kirya headquarters in Tel Aviv for a discussion called "an intelligence update on the nuclear agreement with Iran."
A political source told Arutz Sheva that the Security Cabinet meeting followed the meeting between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday and the telephone conversation between Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump over the last 24 hours.
The source clarified there was no connection between Israel and the explosions in Syria last night, which Iran blamed on Israel. "We have nothing to do with the Iranian accusations," he added.
