Rona Ramon was born in Kiryat Ono in 1964.

She served as a paramedic in the parachute unit in the IDF.

Rona and Ilan Ramon got married when she was 22. They had four children. In 1998 the family moved to Huston to prepare for the STS 107 flight. After the Columbia accident, many remembrance initiatives rose to commemorate Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut.

As Rona's eldest son, Asaf, who realized his dream to become a fighter pilot, found his death in a training accident, Rona Ramon decided to dedicate her life to making it possible for all children to dream and to pursue their callings.
