The Anne Frank Trust UK has caused outrage after inviting a speaker to talk to children who claimed that Israel was committing a "Holocaust" against the Palestinian Arabs and compared the Jewish State to Nazi Germany.

The London-based anti-racism educational charity announced in a Saturday social media post that it was inviting Nasima Begum to run a “creative storytelling workshop” for children as part of their Youth Empowerment Program.

But, according to the Jewish Chronicle, Begum made a series of statements in 2011 and 2012 alleging that Israel was committing “genocide” against Palestinian Arabs, told a pro-Israel activist “death to you Zionist scum” and justified Hamas rocket attacks.

The report noted that in 2011 Begum said, “What's sad is that the Jewish population faced genocide themselves in Hitler's Germany but they've implemented the same on Palestine for years.”

In 2012, she tweeted to a pro-Israel Twitter account a justification for Hamas rocket attacks against Israelis, claiming "exiling a people from their own land justifies anything. It's the Holocaust all over again except this time it's innocent Palestinians and ironically the perpetrators are you Zionist scum.”

She also tweeted to the same user: “You will always remain an illegal state. Death to you Zionist scum.”

After Begum’s tweets sparked a flood of criticism, the Anne Frank Trust announced that they were opening an investigation into how Begum was hired.

“It has been brought to our attention that a freelance arts practitioner we employed in one of our educational workshops last week may have views that are not consistent with our values. We are launching an investigation into these concerns,” the Trust said in a Twitter statement. “We will publish a summary of the findings and any resulting action on our website as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are removing all promotion of the workshop from our social media.”

The charity later released an additional statement: “We condemn the appointment of Nasima Begum as a workshop practitioner for the The Anne Frank Trust UK. Her antisemitism is well documented and highly offensive. We are relieved that The Anne Frank Trust UK is investigating in detail how this mistake was made.”
