It has been cleared for publication that in a joint operation by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Northern District Police General Unit, three men from Nazareth were arrested on suspicion they supported the Hamas terror organization and intended to carry out terror activity inspired by the group.
The three detainees participated in a Hamas gathering while wrapped in flags and sang songs of praise to the organization. In addition, the investigation found that one of them was filmed in the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem expressing support for the organization.
The investigation's findings also showed that the three made Molotov cocktails, which they intended to throw at security forces during riots in their village. One of the suspects was even photographed on the roof of a house in his village holding a weapon and wrapped in a Hamas flag.
The police stated: "The investigation uncovered a worrying picture that shows young teens, Israeli Arabs, consuming content that expresses solidarity with terror organizations, and because of that, they promote severe security actions, mainly due to the easy access to weapons, even at a young age. The Hamas terror organization continues to disseminate its ideology among the citizens of Israel and its residents and works through propaganda disseminated on the Temple Mount and social media to promote terror activity in Israel."
On Monday, a severe indictment was submitted to the District Court in Nazareth against the three, requesting to detain them until the end of the legal process.
