A large event involving hundreds of motorcycles was held this evening (Monday) between the settlements of Itamar and Beit El in memory of David Yehuda Yitzhak, the IDF soldier who was killed during the counterterrorism operation in Jenin last week.

Yitzhak used to go on trips across the country on his motorcycle. Before the operation, he left his motorcycle with Moshe Rontsky, who organized the memorial event.

Rontsky, a 41-year-old resident of Itamar, said: "After the attack in Eli, the soldiers from the Egoz unit were stationed in the area of Itamar. On Shabbat, some fighters remained in the settlement to guard us and we invited them to dinner with us. They told us that David rides a motorcycle because my son is a motorcycle mechanic. David immediately connected with him. We went on a trip together on our motorcycles and David left his motorcycle with us to travel together last Friday, but he did not return to us."

"We decided that the family should be honored by returning the motorcycle and not to leave it with is. Hundreds of bikers from all over the country and and social media gathered here together to pay their last respects." He further emphasized that "everyone together her salutes the hero warrior who gave his life for us, without regard for whether our opinion was one way or the other, but simply because he loved us all."

Beit El Mayor Shai Alon said: "David was so quiet and humble, but at the same time full of the energy of life and spirit. Everything he did stemmed from an inner truth and he did not look to receive honor. We are exposed day by day to how much David did, how many hearts he touched, how much he swept after him, and how much light those who walked in his path were exposed to. The moving salute journey is another part of the great honor that David Yehuda is receiving and rightly so. David's unwritten testament is love for the people of Israel. David loved every person wherever he was and through this testament of unity, precisely in this period, we will continue onward with all our strength. Am Yisrael Chai."
