תיעוד: ראש המועצה חילץ ילדים שננעלו בדירה

Kiryat Arba-Hebron Council Head Eliyahu Libman received a call from a family in the Council whose children were locked in an apartment, while the parents were left outside.

Following this, Libman tied himself to rappelling cables and broke into the apartment.

Libman, who also volunteers in the Etzion and Judea evacuation unit, took the rappelling equipment in his possession and went up to the roof of the building. From there, he snaked down through the fourth floor to the third floor, and from there to the balcony and into the apartment. Entering the apartment, Libman calmed the children, opened the door, and reunited the parents and children.

"Sometimes you imagine and dream that the day is over, come home at night, eat a few fresh shnitzels my righteous wife prepared, and get ready to go to sleep. But this time the phone rang and on the other side was a call for help," he said.

"I am not special here in this Council. Around me there are hundreds of residents who volunteer in dozens of organizations and various units. How happy is your lot, Israel."
