A delegation of Arab MKs set out on Sunday for a series of meetings with leaders of the Muslim world on recent violent clashes between Israeli police and Arab rioters on the Temple Mount. The Joint List delegation left Israel for Jordan on Sunday morning ahead of a meeting with King Abdullah, Channel 10 reports. From Jordan, they will travel to Istanbul to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Deputy Knesset Speaker Ahmed Tibi will lead fellow Joint List MKs Jamal Zahalka, Aida Touma-Sliman, Taleb Abu Arar, and Osama Sa'adi in expressing concern over the escalation of violence in Jerusalem, as well as Israel's "provocative" policies on the Mount. Before the delegation's departure Tibi once again threatened that if Israel continues its current policies, there will be a "regional combustion." The delegation has also reportedly been in contact with various European Union officials about meetings "to inform them about the changes happening at the Al-Aqsa Mosque." Despite blasting Israel for "provocations," Tibi, along with Zahalka and Abu Arar, were seen in a recently-published video participating in a violent riot on the Temple Mount, with Tibi even striking a police officer. Jordan has also accused Israel of "provocations" and "attempts to change the status quo" at the Temple Mount, threatening to "take action" should Israel not stop its actions. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has consistently denied any plans to allow Jewish prayer at Judaism's holiest site.
