Whether people believe in a Creator or not, they like to make predictions - prophecies, if you will - about the future. It seems to be part of who we are, and part of an innate need to try and control our destinies. The question is credibility. Anyone can attempt to prognosticate, but few can actually do it with any real accuracy. This is why it is uncanny that predictions made by the author of the Zohar are either coming true already, or are poised to come to true, and they are connected to the current Torah readings.
