MK Samy Abu Shahadeh (Joint List) announced on Wednesday night that he had tested positive for coronavirus after his driver tested positive for the virus.
"A few minutes ago I received the result of the coronavirus test I underwent today - the test came back positive. I appeal to anyone who was in my immediate vicinity to go into isolation and undergo a test," Shahadeh wrote on Twitter.
He added, "I ask everyone to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health, we should all internalize that the war against the virus is not over yet. The virus still exists among us and the supposed return to normal is helping the virus spread in a big and fast way. I wish lots of health to all of us."
On Tuesday it was reported that Shahadeh’s driver had been infected with COVID-19. As a result, Shahadeh’s and employees of his office went into home isolation.
Yosef Grif, the Knesset sergeant-at-arms, emailed the members of the Knesset and its employees, requesting that anyone who was in the vicinity of the driver follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
