A spokesman for the US State Department said in an interview with Al Jazeera that Hezbollah is the main obstacle to Lebanon's economic reconstruction and growth.
According to the spokesman, the terrorist organization "bears sole responsibility for the Israeli presence on the territory of the country." He further emphasized Washington's position regarding the continuation of the necessary steps: "The pilot areas are the only practical path to achieving peace. We expect the Lebanese army to complete the cleanup operations in these areas."
