Report: Netanyahu expected to appoint Interior Minister after a year

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently holding discussions ahead of the appointment of a new interior minister and is expected to make a decision soon, following nearly a year in which the ministry has operated without a permanent minister. Kan 11 News reported.

According to the report, the appointment will be coordinated with Shas chairman Aryeh Deri, who is expected to approve only a candidate acceptable to him. Leading candidates include Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz, Ministers Miki Zohar and Yariv Levin, and Interior Ministry Director-General Israel Ouzan.
