Businessman Alexander Blok extradited from Israel to US

Alexander Blok (Gurvitz), an Israeli and Russian citizen, was extradited from Israel to the US early Thursday morning to face charges of fraud and computer-related offenses, transferring stolen goods, and money laundering.

According to the allegations, Blok exploited a security vulnerability in the Nomad cryptocurrency platform in August 2022 to withdraw tokens worth approximately $2.8 million. He allegedly converted the tokens and transferred the funds between digital wallets to conceal their origin.

Blok was arrested at Ben-Gurion Airport in May 2025 while on his way to Russia. His extradition proceeded after the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, and his subsequent request for a further hearing was also denied.
