
Governor of Colorodo Bill Ritter is leading an economic development mission in Israel with the intent of creating business, investment and research partnerships in energy, clean-tech and water.
The July 12-18 venture is being joined by over a dozen other Coloradans who will take part in the signing of Colorado-Israel agreements and memorandums of understanding which will address cooperation, the exchange of ideas and information, and mutual business practices.
Mission members will meet Israeli President Shimon Peres and a slew of government, hi-tech officials, and academic officials, including the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor, the Minister of Infrastructure, the Deputy Foreign Minister, and representatives from various energy and environmental businesses.
The mission is being sponsored by the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado.
Governor Ritter praised Israel for developing more venture capital investments and start-up companies per capita than any other country in the world.His wife, First Lady Jeannie Ritter, who sees mental health as one of her top priorities, will meet with Israeli behavioral health experts.
