The Palestinian Authority has long presented the religious belief that the fight against Israel is for Allah and for Islam and, accordingly, has presented the conflict with Israel as a fight on behalf of all Muslims to liberate what they claim is Islamic holy land.

Now PA TV has broadcast a song accusing Israel of being the one fighting a religious war. The song, which was broadcast on February 24, demonizes Israel as an oppressor that "tortured" PA Arabs and “usurped” Palestinian land, all in the name of religion.

The song was translated by the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) research institute and presented on its website.

The lyrics of the song are as follows:

“My country - they [Israel] usurped, divided and stole...
Our fields - they burned and seeded with our corpses
Our villages - they uprooted and replaced with their houses
In your name, oh God, they tortured me
In your name, oh God, they expelled me”

The Fatah-run PA TV network often broadcasts programs that incite against Israel. Recently, the network twice broadcast a song that glorifies the use of terrorism to achieve an independent state.

The song states that violence and “Martyr's blood” will be used to achieve statehood. It demonizes Israel as a “treacherous aggressor,” and vilifies the Jewish State as a “sinner.”

Another song recently broadcast by the network expresses longing for a world without Israel.

The lyrics of the song express a desire for the Israeli cities of Haifa, Jaffa, Akko, Ramle and Nazareth to be part of “my country,” which is Palestine, where all cities would be accessible “with no borders.”

The official PA TV network is sponsored by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who is often described by Israeli leaders as the moderate of the Arab leaders, as opposed to the Hamas terror group, and who is a “partner for peace”.
