Jewish Home Chairman, Naftali Bennett, and Uri Ariel, who heads the Tekuma faction inside Jewish Home, were preparing to meet Sunday evening in order to try and hammer out differences that could cause a split within the party. MK Moti Yogev said Sunday that he hopes the two men can reach a compromise, and present a united party in the upcoming elections. "There is no meaningful disagreement between the parts of the Jewish Home,” he said. “All parts of the Jewish Home understand that this is a party that is connected to the nation, and that has its foundations in the Torah – and that everyone is connected to the land and the state. There is no ideological justification for a split,” he insisted. "I have great appreciation for Minister Uri Ariel and for all of our friends from Tekuma, but out of responsibility for the nation, the state of Israel and the religious Zionist public, I think that lessons must be learned, difficulties need to be overcome and we should run together in a big way,” he opined. As for concerns voiced by MK Orit Struk and other members of Tekuma, that the Jewish Home is losing its religious values, Yogev said that “together, we can safeguard the balance between the potential of being a governing party and our commitment to the values of the Torah of Israel.” "The lessons of the past have proved that splits can lead us to leftist governments and only a united Jewish Home can put up a right-wing government to face the left.”
