Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Silvan Shalom paid a visit Sunday to the protest tent erected by the head of the Samaria Regional Council across from the Prime Minister's residence, and spoke about the latest terror incidents.
In his words: "At the moment, the public really wants to see the government handle this wave of terror using any means possible.
“With all the incitement from TV and radio, a child at age three wasn't born to hate Jews. He hears it in the mosque, he hears it in school. And this entire setup backs up the hatred that builds up,” he explained. “Deterrence must be harsh: removing their citizenship, removing their residential rights, destroying their homes."
Yossi Dagan, the head of the Samaria Council, thanked him for his visit and emphasized the reason the heads of the Judea-Samaria local authorities decided to go on with the struggle: “With all due appreciation for the Prime Minister, we have decided to continue, because we sense that the entire people supports us and is waiting for some good news on the subject of security, and not just waiting to catch the terrorists."
