A stabbing attack was thwarted this evening (Wednesday) near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron. An Arab approached a Border Police checkpoint near the holy site in a suspicious manner. He stopped several feet from the police before calling out to them. The officers then noticed that he was holding a knife. The police pointed their weapons at the man and ordered him to drop the knife and surrender. The suspect complied and the situation was resolved without violence. The suspect a 25 year old resident of Hevron, is being interrogated by police.
