Rabbi Moshe Reich, one of the leaders of the Sanzer hassidim, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning. He was 62 years old.

Rabbi Reich was one of the most prominent leaders of the hassidic community in Har Nof, Jerusalem. He led employment projects for haredi women and aided many charities both within and outside his community.

Rabbi Reich was evacuated to Ziv Medical Center in Tzfat overnight after feeling ill. He passed away in the morning due to heart failure.

Interiror Minister Aryeh Deri, the chairman of the Shas party, wrote in response: "I am in the hospital in Tzfat. I am standing broken-hearted at the bedside of my good friend and neighbor Rabbi Moshe Reich, a wonderful man of kindness, the greatest and foremost of all holiness, who left this morning suddenly. My heart refuses to believe. May his memory be blessed!"

The funeral has been postponed until tomorrow to allow Rabbi Reich's family in the United States time to fly in to attend.
