A US Secret Service agent was sent back to the US after being involved in a "physical encounter" in Jerusalem and being arrested, the Secret Service announced Wednesday. The incident allegedly occurred on Monday, two days before US President Joe Biden arrived in Israel for a three-day visit. A woman alleged that she was struck by the agent outside a restaurant in Jerusalem and called the police, CBS reported, The Israel police took the agent into custody before releasing him without charges. The agent has been suspended pending further investigation, the Secret Service said. CBS reported that the agency is investigating whether the agent was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
