MK Waleed Taha from the Ra'am Party warns of a low turnout among Arab voters in the upcoming Knesset elections.
In an interview on Monday with the Israeli Arab channel Enha TV, Taha said that the "fascist right" and Benjamin Netanyahu are the ones who would benefit from a low voter turnout in Arab society. In the last election, the turnout among Arab voters was only 45 percent.
Taha noted that Ra'am is interested in presenting to voters a hope for improving their lives and exercising their rights, while at the same time preventing Netanyahu and the "fascist right" from returning to power.
He estimated that Ra'am would pass the electoral threshold in the upcoming elections and win at least four seats in the Knesset.
Taha attacked the Joint List and argued that the internal struggles within it did not stem from ideology but rather from a fight over the allocation of seats on the Knesset slate between the three parties that are members of the Joint List – Hadash, Ta'al and Balad.
Taha also said that the strategy of the Joint List, which seeks to topple each government, does not bring any results, whereas Ra'am has made very significant achievements for Arab society thanks to its participation in the coalition and its influence on decision-making.
