Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot is still debating which party to join ahead of the upcoming election, with the main interested parties being Yesh Atid, Blue and White and Labor. He is expected to make a decision in the next two and a half weeks. Channel 12 News commentator Amit Segal on Wednesday reported another consideration of Eizenkot’s, who believes that only a broad coalition and a large ruling party will bring stability. Eizenkot wants a broad statesmanlike government that does not rely on the whims of a sole Knesset member. There is also another consideration, according to Segal: Eizenkot's lesson which he gleaned from this past year is not only the need for a broad government, but also for a Prime Minister who will come from a party that won a significant number of seats (at least 20 and maybe a little less), and not the type of numbers that will bring Israel back to a situation that is similar to the Bennett-Lapid government. Gantz is currently unable to win such a number of seats and the big question is whether the joining of Eizenkot with an addition group will bring Gantz and Sa'ar closer to that number.
