Former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts have been restored. They were suspended in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Trump’s last Facebook post before his account was indefinitely closed called for his supporters to leave the Capitol. "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!" A Meta spokesperson confirmed to NBC News on Thursday that Trump’s accounts had been reinstated. Trump’s ban in the days after the Jan. 6 riot was described at the time as indefinite. It came during the last two weeks of his presidency. Trump’s Twitter account was also recently restored. He had been banned from the platform since January 8, 2021.
