Rebbetzin Bruria David, the founder of the Machon Sarah Schenirer seminary, commonly known as BJJ, has passed away at the age of 84. Rebbetzin David was the only child of Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner ztz"l, the dean of the Chaim Berlin yeshivah and author of Pachad Yitzchak . She leaves her husband, Rabbi Yonason David shlit"a , currently dean of the Pachad Yitzchak yeshivah , and sadly no children. BJJ, also known as Seminar Bais Yaakov LeMoros, was founded in the 1970s and inspired a trend of American girls coming to Jerusalem to learn in seminary for a year or more before marrying and establishing their homes. Rebbetzin David led the seminary for decades and will be remembered as a formative influence in the lives of thousands of students. Rebbetzin David had been unwell for some time and passed away early on Monday during the intermediate days of Pesach (Passover). The levayah (funeral) will take place at Yeshivat Pachad Yitzchok of Har Nof, Jerusalem, at 11:00 a.m. (4:00 a.m. US time) and can be viewed live here . May her memory be for a blessing.
