The ministers of the political-security cabinet have received an update that the security cabinet will change its policy on the response to terrorist organizations in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip following Israel's Independence Day this week.
According to the report by Nir Dvori, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the government ministers not to comment on the targeted countermeasures and made it clear to them that after Independence Day the level of Israel's response will increase, both in Judea and Samaria and in the Gaza Strip.
The security establishment intends to launch more extensive and forceful operations in Judea and Samaria, even at the cost of a larger conflict with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, which is believed to be close to another conflict with Israel.
Through these steps, Israel seeks to convey a message to the leaders of Hamas, wherever they are, that they cannot continue to hide behind their operatives in Judea and Samaria or in Lebanon, as part of an effort led by the security establishment to restore deterrence.
