In the last few hours, IDF fighter jets and aircraft struck approximately 15 concealed rocket and mortar shell launchers belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said on Friday evening.

Over the past days, rockets and mortar shells were fired from these launchers toward Israeli territory.

Earlier on Friday, IDF aircraft, as part of Operation Shield and Arrow, struck two Islamic Jihad operational command centers.

They centers are used for planning and managing rocket launches by the rocket unit of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.

Also on Friday, the IDF and ISA targeted a senior operative of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, Ayeed Alhuseni, head of its operational department in the Gaza Strip in a hideout apartment.

Alhuseni was a significant figure in leading the operational activity and military decision-making of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. An Islamic Jihad terrorist organization operative was also targeted.

Over the last days, in addition to his position, Alhuseni replaced Khalil Bahitini, who was targeted during the first day of the operation, as the commander of military operations of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.
