Nine injured, one dead, in traffic accident in eastern Israel
Child suffers severe injures in Route 90 traffic accident which kills young woman.
Fire and Rescue Services were called Saturday evening to the site of a traffic accident in the Jordan Valley.
The accident, which involved two Israeli vehicles, happened near Masu'a on Route 90 and left nine people injured and one dead.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported nine injured, among them two - a 10-year-old boy and a 20-year-old young man - who are in serious condition. Four others have suffered moderate injuries, and three more have suffered light injuries. Helicopters have been sent to the scene.
Earlier on Saturday, a young woman of about 25 was killed in a collision between three vehicles, on Route 1 near the Shoresh Interchange.
In that incident, a man of about 30 suffered serious injuries and a man of about 25 suffered moderate injuries. Both were treated at the scene by Magen David Adom (MDA) and evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center.
Following the accident, both lanes have been blocked off, and police have opened an investigation.
